Emergency Dental Treatment
Dental emergencies often involve sudden pain, swelling, or breakage that needs prompt attention. This can result from an untreated infection, an injury, or a tooth that’s been slowly deteriorating over time. In most cases, it’s pain—sharp, throbbing, and unrelenting—that finally pushes people to seek help.
But by that stage, the problem is usually more advanced—and more difficult, costly, and invasive to treat.
Don’t Wait for It to Get Worse
Many dental emergencies can be prevented with regular check-ups and early intervention. Mild sensitivity, a chipped tooth, or occasional discomfort might not seem serious at first—but left untreated, these symptoms often worsen and can lead to serious complications.
In particular, swelling in the neck or face should never be ignored. It can be a sign of a spreading infection, which may become life-threatening if left untreated. Seek dental or medical assistance immediately if you notice this type of swelling.
If You Have a Dental Emergency
If you’re experiencing a dental emergency, contact your regular dentist as soon as possible. Sometimes a phone call is all it takes to help manage the situation or determine if urgent care is required.
We’ll do our best to accommodate urgent cases during our normal clinic hours. While we are not a hospital or after-hours provider, we may be able to offer same-day appointments or guide you on what to do next.
